One of the reasons I bought a Chevy vehicle is because I live very close to this dealership. They are disorganized (my part sat for weeks and no one called me). Kaitlyn got the ball rolling after I contacted her about it. Then the service department changed my appointment because he sent the part off to be painted. At the time of order, I specifically asked for it NOT to be painted. I couldn’t afford it. It should have been a quick fix. Even came in at the time they recommended because “less busy.” It took 1-1/2 hours to attach a door handle, plus another 45 minutes for a car wash which I never asked for. When I finally got my car back it was FILTHY! I immediately sent a long text to Katlyn and photos of my dirty car. She brought this to the Service Manager’s attention. He was supposed to call me. Never did. They won’t give out Bobby Crabtree’s number. Plus paid close to $300 for a part that fell off. They said it wasn’t covered on my extended warranty because I “damaged it.” Dave actually said to me “ You or someone else pulled too hard on the handle.” Really!? This is how they treat customers.
I've stopped going to McDermott. The service department seems distracted and put off by my being there. I'm not sure if it's because I drive a bolt, or what but I was not welcome. In one case, they said at 1pm the EV tech called in sick that morning, but they failed to call and inform me at all. When I brought this fact up, they said, "what are we supposed to do?" The most recent and last time I pulled up they seemed again totally put off, and said gruffly, "we don't know how long it will take" and threw a $200 diagnostic down and told me to sign it. Totally unprofessional. I left and going to a different dealer even though it's farther away. They lost my business on my next chevy purchase.
I was looking for a used car. Had already went to three dealerships before going to Dave McDermott Chevrolet. I saw the SUV I wanted online. Kaitlyn responded almost immediately and put me in touch with Brandon Williams, who by the way was awesome! No pressure, very patient, upfront and honest with me. Best experience! I contacted McDermott about a used car I saw online. Kaitlyn got back to me right away & set me up with Tom Rowe. Tom is the best! No pressure at all. Went for a test drive, Tom answered all my questions. I came back a few days later with a family member to look at it & they pulled it into service dept so we could look at it. They went above & beyond to accommodate anything we needed or answer any questions. Purchased the car. Jack took care of everything in the Finance Dept quickly & easily. I met with Kevin on my way out the door. Not one complaint! I was dreading buying a new car for a long time because I didn't want to deal with a dealer. This experience was awesome. Based on the selection of on-hand inventory, I went to McDermott Chevrolet to check it out. I pretty much knew what I wanted, but wanted to see up close. Dave White was right there to answer questions. He offered a test drive so we gave it a spin. He knew all the answers to any question, features etc. He was right there to help me confirm what I wanted. I didn’t come with my trade-in, but we talked price and in no time came to an agreement (no pressure, ho hassle). I gave a deposit and said I’d be back next day with trade-in. Dave made this the easiest transaction EVER! Next day, my new ride was sitting right out front, all sparkling & clean. He gathered my documents, introduced me to the finance guy and literally 20 minutes later DONE! Could not have been simpler. Dave then spent some quality time with me to get things set up and learn the new features. Super helpful!! Dave White ... best car salesman I’ve ever dealt with!
I have been working to find a specific truck. Dave has been more than helpful in his search to locate one. He also sends me like alternatives. He follows up to see how my search is going and asking if he can be of more assistance. He is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. It is a pleasure to work with him. Beware do not buy from this dealership! Was Working with salesman on purchase of a used car, left the show room to discuss outside in private. Prior to leaving sales man tells my husband “I’m not supposed to say this but someone is coming to look at the xxxxing car at 4 o’clock”. Long story short they took a deposit while we were discussing in the parking lot and sold right out from underneath us. Never had the courtesy to walk up to us or even call to Let us know they were going to do this. Next thing we know my husband is walking back into the dealership to say we are taking it and finish up paperwork and they announced “sorry, we already sold it somebody gave us a deposit over the phone”. I was shocked at how cold and uncaring they were… They just wanted to make for sale no matter what. Asked to talk to manager who was very condescending and seemed bothered with our complaint, Never really listened and obvious he was going to continue to sell to the person over the phone. Should not have happened this way and very scummy indecent way to treat a customer. To share my story and let people know that there are some very great reliable dealerships out there that would never do this. McDermit Chevrolet does not care about customer service or their customers so please take your business elsewhere so this does not happen to you!!!

AWSOME FROM SALES TO FINANCE, Marvin in sales to Jack in finance, AWSOME! From my first phone call to driving the new Silverado off the lot was just perfect!
Their service dept picked up my Hummer with a forklift and damaged my vehicle. Who moves a customers vehicle with a forkift? When I pointed it out the guy in service first denied it and then said the dents won’t affect the operation if it. On Monday I was assured the parts were coning in next day air, here it is Friday and now they are telling me maybe Tuesday. No reply from Dave McDermott about this issue, no compensation for being out a vehicle all this time, and yet they still processed my over $5000 bill for the initial repair, that now I wonder if any of that was caused by the forklift

Please don't give this dealership your business, when hardworking people stick together, that's when these businesses will learn to respectfully and responsibly make transactions. Very long story short, I went to this dealership in Sep 2017 to lease a vehicle that another Chevy dealer in Scarsdale, NY had tried to get for me but this dealership played numerous games and avoided their sales team to not transfer a 2017 Silverado from Dave McDermott Chevy East Haven, CT to the one in Scarsdale, NY. Since I have common sense and figured the dealership at McDermott would sell it to me instead of missing a sale and trading it to Scarsdale, I myself took it upon myself to just google the Vin# and try to locate what dealership had it. Once I located McDermott Chevy I told them I was the customer who Scarsdale Chevy was getting the car. McDermott then lease the Silverado to me behind Scardales Chevy back. I gladly too the Silverado, but then I realized if they would be deceitful and back stab a fellow Chevy dealer I should have know I was no different. Now it's the day I'm so excited to walk away with my NEW Silverado!!! Everything changed and went down hill when I worked with there business manager Christine Carey. This dealership ran my credit a total of THREE times!!! I had excellent credit of 789, and was also in process of closing on my new condo! A contract was signed, but the bank had a few issues. The dealership wanted more paperwork from me but still told me not to worry that I could still leave with the truck...To sum things up Christine Carey never returned my phone calls and I would call everyday even up to THREE times a day trying to see what was going on with my contract and for her to explain certain numbers that were changed or added in another contract that was then FEDEX to me to sign ASAP, but she would ignore my calls and then answer me twice in an email without exactly answering the questions I had. I have now been without a contract for two months now. And then she assured me along with their GM Kevin Symobathy that my credit would not be ran again. Words can fully explain how upset I truly feel. Carey pushed me to sign a contract but didn't want to talk to me or explain it. It's really sad because the GM Kevin Syombathy was actually very nice, but niceness doesn't correct my credit score when I'm trying to buy property. I don't think he knew how Christine Carey was running the business. Since my credit to debt ratio was excellent, I was told by my broker I could buy a vehicle( for those wondering, why would I get a vehicle in the first place if I'm trying to buy property)Anyways, I will see how this turns out.
This was the second oil change on my new Chev. Waiting time was too long. More than 1.5 hours. Otherwise, good service. Sal is very friendly and well informed regarding the vehicle.
Great service explained everything and very courteous would highly recommend them to all my friends and family. Will return for anything else my car may need service for.
