PLEASE READ!! If you are a female, do NOT go there alone! I know this is a long review but before you go to Crabtree chevrolet please read this. Where do I begin...my first day at crabtree new haven was a complete disappointment. I felt trapped and undermined by the people in this place. Yes. I said trapped I literally had to sneak out to leave while the person i was working with went to find a car in some back lot somewhere for about 30 min or longer. I went by myself, which I am thinking was a big mistake. I initially got a call from them while I was in Florida and discussed my situation. My price range, what I was looking for, etc. I made an appt to come in. I was introduced to a guy named Luke. He seemed nice at first but that changed rather quickly. He showed a couple of brand new cars which I knew I couldn't afford but I went with it. I expressed that I could afford 400$ max 450$ a month. He came back with an 800$ a month car payment asking if that was OK. Then back again with something way out of my price range as well. He said he had a car on the lot that would fall into my price range which I was doubtful but after 6 hrs there I thought might had been a good opportunity to leave. I ran to my car and sped out of there. I received a call from the manager that night which I hesitantly answered. He said that I would not have to deal with Luke the following day but they wanted to help me and apologized for what I went through that day. Reluctantly I went the following morning. This time I had my son with me. I am not going to go through the entire day, but it was worse. They wanted to appraise my current car and took my keys saying they were going to drive it. Ok fine. I then realized a while later that they never gave them back. I asked for them twice after that and they did not give them back to me. They showed me a used equinox that was nice but wasnt what I wanted. They told me that I was going to be leaving in that car that day. They did not give me any chance to speak. They just walked away every time they would come over again with payments I couldn't afford. My son was very confused as to what was even happening. I still dont have my keys by the way. 4 o'clock I went up to the front desk where the finance guy sits and told them that I have to leave and asked for my keys again. At that point they started to ask me for money. They wanted me to make a 500$ deposit to hold that car. Then said I can take the car home for the night which I initially agreed to. After standing there for a min I thought wait a minute. This is definitely not right. While I was standing at that desk, I happened to look over and saw a basket with a bunch of keys which looked like people's car keys. They had all different key chains and house keys it looked like. I said. I will be taking my keys. I felt trapped and very uncomfortable. Almost like I couldn't leave for a moment as they were all surrounding me. My son was getting very impatient and started to get a little upset. They noticed that and I said that I will be taking my son and my keys and leaving. They asked for the 500$ once again. I said that I will not be giving them any money. Again I had to literally run out of there. Run to my car and take off. I have never felt so trapped and a little scared. I got multiple calls right after I left and texts saying that the car was ready for me to take it home as I just ignored them. I got a call the next day from the manager saying they had a meeting with the higher ups about the experience I had and they gave me an offer of a price outside of my price range again. I just couldn't believe It. I said I will not be doing business with a place who threatens their customers and demands money from them. Good luck crabtree! Ill be forwarding this review everywhere. People need to know who they are dealing with when they go there.
I have been looking for my dream car for over a year I had wanted a car with heated leather seats seats front & back a moonroof that opened wide and of course pearl white well Rafael castro my sales consultant found me the perfect fit i fell in love on our test drive Rafael was super helpful answering all of my questions and concerns my daughter and i bonded with him on our test drive he was so helpful and patient with me . His staff worked with him non stop to make this happen couldn’t be happier i love my beautiful car and did i tell you my car came with a lifetime warranty that was a pleasant surprise. We have had the best experience with Manny as our star sales associate. He has extensive knowledge and professionalism. We were also impressed with management and the finance department. This all around was a great purchasing experience! We plan on coming back for our next vehicle.

Daniel Kidder was phenomenal when giving me a detailed explanation of how to operate my new Malibu- patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. Instilled confidence and has great people skills and product knowledge. A great asset to Crabtree.
One of the reasons I bought a Chevy vehicle is because I live very close to this dealership. They are disorganized (my part sat for weeks and no one called me). Kaitlyn got the ball rolling after I contacted her about it. Then the service department changed my appointment because he sent the part off to be painted. At the time of order, I specifically asked for it NOT to be painted. I couldn’t afford it. It should have been a quick fix. Even came in at the time they recommended because “less busy.” It took 1-1/2 hours to attach a door handle, plus another 45 minutes for a car wash which I never asked for. When I finally got my car back it was FILTHY! I immediately sent a long text to Katlyn and photos of my dirty car. She brought this to the Service Manager’s attention. He was supposed to call me. Never did. They won’t give out Bobby Crabtree’s number. Plus paid close to $300 for a part that fell off. They said it wasn’t covered on my extended warranty because I “damaged it.” Dave actually said to me “ You or someone else pulled too hard on the handle.” Really!? This is how they treat customers.
I've stopped going to McDermott. The service department seems distracted and put off by my being there. I'm not sure if it's because I drive a bolt, or what but I was not welcome. In one case, they said at 1pm the EV tech called in sick that morning, but they failed to call and inform me at all. When I brought this fact up, they said, "what are we supposed to do?" The most recent and last time I pulled up they seemed again totally put off, and said gruffly, "we don't know how long it will take" and threw a $200 diagnostic down and told me to sign it. Totally unprofessional. I left and going to a different dealer even though it's farther away. They lost my business on my next chevy purchase.
